Designersblock: London Design Festival 2009

In September, Puff&Flock Textile Lab exhibited with Designersblock for the London Design Festival. It was the first time that Designersblock was located at Earls Court, next to 100% Design. Our stand contained work from Kathy Schicker, Jo Angell, Melissa French, Elisabeth Buecher, Amelie Labarthe, and myself. Each designer exhibited brand-new work, hinting at new directions that we're headed for in 2010.

I built a magnetic arch, which had a walk-through tunnel. It was covered in a "skin" of magnetic substance - material inspired by the worn textures of peeling paint, dirty pavement, grafitti, and pitted rock. Visitors could play with the "skin" material by rearranging what was there. They could add more to it, or take parts away.
